Guidelines Scholarship - Top Class NSP
Applications are invited from eligible Scheduled Tribe (ST) students for the "National Fellowship and Scholarship for Higher Education of ST Students" for the academic year 2025-26. This Central Sector Scheme, formerly known as the Top-Class Scheme, provides comprehensive financial support to meritorious students pursuing higher education in premier institutions like IIIT Kota. All fresh and renewal applications must be submitted online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP).
Overview of the Scheme
The Ministry of Tribal Affairs offers this scholarship to encourage ST students to attain high-quality education in nationally recognized institutions. The objective is to cover the necessary educational expenses of students admitted to full-time courses in designated institutes, thereby enabling them to complete their studies without financial hardship.
Important Dates and Deadlines
Eligible students must adhere to the following schedule on the National Scholarship Portal:
Opening Date for Student Applications: June 2, 2025
Closing Date for Student Applications: October 31, 2025
Closing Date for Institute Verification: November 15, 2025
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:
Be a student belonging to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category.
Have secured admission to a full-time course at one of the 265 notified premier institutions (including IIIT Kota).
Have a total family income from all sources not exceeding ₹6.0 lakh per annum.
Not be availing any other scholarship from a Central or State Government agency.
Scholarship Benefits
The scheme provides the following financial assistance:
Full Tuition Fees and other non-refundable charges payable to the Institute.
Living Expenses/Stipend of ₹3,000 per month.
Books and Stationery Grant of ₹5,000 per annum.
One-time grant of ₹45,000 for the purchase of a computer and its accessories.
Application Process
Students must apply online via the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) at https://scholarships.gov.in
Both fresh and renewal applicants need to complete their registration and application submission before the deadline. It is mandatory for the Institute's Nodal Officer to verify all applications online.
